Because our office is in Florence, reaching workshops and showrooms does not require a business trip. We look at leathers and samples, negotiate in Italian and inspect finished items before dispatch. Questions about a buying agent in Florence
What is the minimum order at leather goods workshops?
It depends on the workshop and the item. Ready styles from stock can often be bought in small quantities per style, while production with your logo has a higher minimum, counted per style and colour. Our own €500 minimum covers the whole order and can be reached across several suppliers.
Can I attend Pitti Uomo as a buyer?
Pitti fairs are trade-only, and buyers typically need to register in advance with their company details. We explain the procedure, plan meetings with exhibitors and interpret for you. If you cannot travel, we discuss what can be done remotely.
How long does bag production at a workshop take?
As a rule, from a few weeks to a couple of months, depending on the workshop's workload, the leather and the complexity of the style. The August closure and the December holidays shift schedules, and we factor that into planning.
How are leather goods shipped outside the EU?
We prepare the invoice, packing list and export declaration through a customs representative. With a confirmed export, Italian VAT is, as a rule, not charged. If the order includes exotic leather, we check in advance whether CITES permits are needed.
Can we see several workshops in one live session?
Yes, if they are close to each other, for example in Florence and Scandicci. We agree the route and let the workshops know in advance. If you also need clothing from Prato, it is easier to see it in a separate session on another day.
