Export Documents from Italy
The full set of paperwork to take goods out of the EU and clear them in your country.
Goods exported outside the EU go through Italian customs: an export declaration is filed and given an MRN, and once the goods physically leave, the system records their exit from the EU. That proof matters to you too: as a rule, it is what allows the Italian supplier to invoice without VAT under Article 8 of Presidential Decree (DPR) 633/1972. We prepare the documents together with the suppliers and a customs broker in Italy. We check the destination requirements in advance: some countries only need an invoice and packing list, others ask for a certificate of origin or conformity documents.
Documents we prepare
Commercial invoice
Seller, buyer, description of goods, HS code, value, delivery terms and country of origin for every line.
Packing list
Number of packages, weights and dimensions, contents of each box. Matches the invoice down to the last unit.
Export declaration
Filed through a customs broker in Italy and given an MRN, which tracks the goods' exit from the EU.
Certificate of origin
The non-preferential certificate is issued by the Italian Chamber of Commerce when the destination country or buyer requires it.
EUR.1 and origin statements
Needed only for countries with an EU preferential trade agreement, and only for goods that meet its rules of origin.
Transport documents
Air waybill, bill of lading or CMR depending on the transport mode, with data that matches the invoice.

FAQ
Can I buy goods without Italian VAT?
As a rule, yes, if the goods leave the EU and the exit is proven by customs documents. The procedure depends on who arranges the export, so we agree it with the supplier before payment.
Do I need EUR.1 for the CIS countries, the UAE or the USA?
The EU has no preferential agreements in force with Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, the UAE, the USA or Saudi Arabia, so EUR.1 does not apply to these countries, although a certificate of origin may be requested. Ukraine is different: it has a free trade area with the EU, so a proof of origin is normally needed for the preferential duty, and we confirm its format before shipment.
Who files the export declaration?
The exporter or its customs broker in Italy. We coordinate the process and pass the supplier data to the broker.
Can the invoice show a lower value?
No. We state the real transaction value: undervaluation exposes both you and the supplier to fines and delays.
