Uzbekistan is not a member of the Eurasian Economic Union: it has been an observer since 2020. It therefore applies its own customs tariff, its own conformity assessment system and its own labelling rules, and EAEU certificates do not replace them on their own. On import, duty by commodity code and VAT are generally payable, with a standard VAT rate of 12% in 2026. Rates on finished garments can be noticeably higher than on fabrics and textile raw materials, so it is worth running the numbers before you choose the range. There is also a language requirement. For most consumer goods, a certificate of conformity is not issued unless the manufacturer has applied labelling in the state language, Uzbek in Latin script. This means labels have to be prepared at the factory in Italy. Uzbekistan is reforming its technical regulation system in 2026 and is negotiating WTO accession, so confirm the current rules for your product with a broker before each large shipment.

Air freight to Tashkent
Urgent and light consignments go by air cargo with a transfer at a hub. It costs more than road freight but is faster.
Costing before you buy
We send your broker HS codes and prices per style, so you can estimate duty and VAT before paying the factories.
Counterparty checks
We screen the consignee against EU sanctions lists and, where needed, ask for confirmation that the goods are sold in Uzbekistan.

FAQ
Is an EAEU certificate valid in Uzbekistan?
As a rule, no: Uzbekistan is not an EAEU member and has its own conformity assessment system. Which document your product needs, and whether a foreign test report can be recognised, is confirmed by an accredited body or your broker.
Does the label have to be in Uzbek?
For most packaged consumer goods, yes: without labelling in Uzbek in Latin script, the certificate of conformity may be refused. Russian and other languages can be added alongside Uzbek, but not instead of it.
Which taxes are paid on import?
Duty by commodity code, VAT (standard rate 12% in 2026) and customs fees. Temporary reliefs exist for some textile raw materials, but they usually do not cover finished clothing.
Is digital code marking required?
