When should I buy coats and down jackets for winter?
Autumn-winter collections from brands and factories are usually ordered between January and March for delivery in summer or early autumn. In pronto moda showrooms outerwear appears after the August holidays, and the main choice is from September to November. By December mostly leftover stock remains. To have the goods in store when the cold starts, allow time for inspection, consolidation and shipping.
How is down composition stated on the label?
In European practice, down and feather filling is stated as a percentage by weight, for example 80% down and 20% feather, following the EN 12934 standard. The standard is voluntary, but if a manufacturer refers to it, the composition has to comply. For synthetic padding we confirm the fibre and the weight in grams per square metre.
How much does an order weigh and how much space does it take?
A wool coat usually weighs more than a down jacket, while a down jacket takes up more space. Express carriers often charge by dimensional weight (length x width x height of the box in centimetres, divided by 5,000), so for light, bulky items it can exceed the actual weight. We give you exact figures for your order before dispatch.
Can down jackets be compressed for packing?
Items with synthetic padding usually tolerate tight packing well. Down jackets can be compressed too, but strong compression over a long period can temporarily reduce the loft of the down, so we match the packing to the transit time. Wool coats are packed so that no hard creases remain.
What is needed to import outerwear into Russia?
As of 2026, outerwear in Russia generally falls under TR CU 017/2011 (TR CU 007/2011 for children's clothing), requires a declaration of conformity and is on the list of goods subject to mandatory Chestny Znak marking.
