Shipping from Italy to the USA
We ship orders from Prato and Florence to the United States with the documents your customs broker needs.
US duty depends on the HTS code: base rates for clothing and textiles vary widely by fibre content and garment type. On top of that, the additional tariffs on EU goods changed several times in 2025 and 2026, including after the US Supreme Court ruling in February 2026. That's why a licensed customs broker should confirm the final rate on the date of entry. The small-parcel exemption is gone: duty-free entry under $800 (de minimis) is suspended for all countries, and in 2026 CBP made the suspension indefinite. Even a small commercial order pays duty, so the paperwork has to be right the first time.
What we do for shipments to the USA
Air and express
Air cargo for mid-sized lots and couriers for samples and small orders, delivered door to door.
Ocean freight
LCL or full container for larger purchases. For ocean shipments the importer files the ISF before loading, and we send the data early.
Broker-ready invoice
A detailed description of each line: fabric composition, construction, country of origin and the HTS code provided by the supplier.
FTC labelling
We check that garments show fibre content, country of origin and the identity of the manufacturer or importer.
Consolidation
We combine goods from several factories into one shipment, so one customs entry is filed instead of several.
Tracking to release
We follow the cargo and stay in touch with your broker until customs releases it.
Why it works
Honest origin
Made in Italy appears only on goods actually made in Italy: duty depends on the country of origin.
Accurate descriptions
Classification is easier for your broker when the factory confirms composition and garment type.
Pre-shipment check
We check quantities, labelling and packing before the cargo leaves for the US.
Clear commission
7 to 10% of the order value depending on volume, with no hidden markup on the goods.
FAQ
What duty will I pay on clothing from Italy?
It depends on the HTS code, fibre content and garment type, plus any additional tariffs in force on the date of entry. The rules have changed often in recent years, so your customs broker calculates the rate from our invoice.
Do I need a customs broker?
For commercial shipments, almost always. The broker clears goods on behalf of the importer of record, and a formal entry as a rule requires a customs bond. Express carriers usually include brokerage in their service.
Can I import an order under $800 duty-free?
No. De minimis duty-free entry is suspended for shipments from all countries, so small orders pay duty too.
What must the label show?
Under FTC rules, clothing and textiles must show fibre content, country of origin and the identity of the responsible company. Care labels are as a rule mandatory too.
