How do you check linen shrinkage?
First we ask the factory whether the fabric has been pre-washed (often called washed or garment-washed linen). If in doubt, we wash a sample following the care label and compare measurements before and after. For a precise result you can order a lab test to ISO 5077 and ISO 6330.
Is the linen in Italian clothing grown in Italy?
As a rule, no. Flax fibre is grown mainly in Western Europe, while Italy weaves the fabric and makes the garments. A Made in Italy label on the garment, as a rule, refers to where it was made, not to the origin of the fibre.
When should I buy linen for the UAE and Saudi Arabia?
Demand for lightweight clothing there lasts much of the year, so it works best to buy in several deliveries. The main summer collections usually reach the showrooms early, and in August many Prato suppliers close, which is worth building into your schedule.
What is the minimum order?
€500 for the whole order through us. Each showroom or factory has its own minimum, usually a size run per style. We tell you before you choose, so you can build a range from several suppliers.
How much does the buying agent service cost?
Commission is 10% on orders up to €2,000, 9% above €2,000 and 7% above €5,000. Invoices come directly from the factories, with no mark-up from us on the goods. The first video session is included in the commission.
