Cashmere and knitwear questions
When can a label say "100% cashmere"?
Under EU Regulation 1007/2011, the words "100%", "pure" or "all" may be used only if the product is made entirely of one fibre. Up to 2% of extraneous fibres is tolerated if technically unavoidable and not added on purpose. Otherwise the content is stated in percentages, for example 70% wool, 30% cashmere.
How do I tell cashmere from a "cashmere feel"?
By touch, hardly at all. Phrases such as "cashmere touch" or "effetto cashmere" usually describe softness, not content. Look at the cashmere percentage on the label and in the supplier's documents, and for a large order you can commission a lab fibre analysis.
How do you check pilling resistance?
On site we look at knit density and surface fibres, rub the fabric and show you the result on video. This is a preliminary assessment. A precise result comes from a lab test to ISO 12945, which grades resistance on a scale of 1 to 5.
What is the minimum order for knitwear?
€500 for the whole order through us. Showrooms and factories have their own minimums, usually a size run per style, and some suppliers are more flexible. We confirm the exact terms before you choose.
Can I buy knitwear without travelling to Italy?
Yes. We show you the styles live over WhatsApp, Telegram, Viber or WeChat: we stretch the fabric and show the reverse side and the label in daylight. The first session is included in the commission.
