Kyrgyzstan is a member of the Eurasian Economic Union, so clothing from Italy is imported under the EAEU Customs Code and the common customs tariff. For many clothing items the duty is combined: a percentage of the value, but not less than a set amount per kilogram, so light, expensive garments are charged differently from heavy, inexpensive ones. VAT is generally added on top of the duty; the standard rate in Kyrgyzstan is 12%. Clothing and textiles fall under technical regulation TR CU 017/2011, and children's items under TR CU 007/2011. The declaration or certificate of conformity is issued to an applicant registered in an EAEU country, usually the importer, and the EAC mark goes on the product. An Italian factory cannot be the applicant, yet only the factory has the compositions, descriptions and samples, so we take care of collecting them.

What will I pay at customs in Kyrgyzstan?
