Exports from the EU to Russia are governed by Council Regulation (EU) 833/2014. Its Article 3h and Annex XVIII prohibit selling and exporting so-called luxury goods to Russia, including clothing, footwear, bags and leather goods, where the value of a single item exceeds EUR 300. According to the European Commission's guidance, the value is the price actually paid for the goods, excluding VAT, as stated in the export declaration. Mass-market clothing priced below this threshold is generally not covered by the ban. As of 2026 the rule applies, but sanctions packages are updated regularly, so we check the current wording before every shipment. Every order is checked before the factory is paid: the value of each line against the threshold, and the buyer, consignee and other parties to the deal against the EU sanctions lists. We do not export goods covered by the bans and we do not work with listed persons. On the Russian side the buyer is responsible for the import: the EAEU declaration of conformity, Chestny ZNAK marking and customs clearance. FAQ about shipping to Russia
What clothing can be shipped from Italy to Russia?
As a rule, clothing, footwear and accessories worth no more than EUR 300 per item. The threshold applies to each unit, not to the lot: a coat at EUR 350 is banned, a hundred T-shirts at EUR 20 each are not. We check the version of Annex XVIII to Regulation 833/2014 in force on the date of shipment.
How long does transit take?
By consolidated road freight through our logistics partners, roughly two to four weeks from dispatch in Italy. Border crossing congestion and customs clearance affect the timing, so the partner gives a precise estimate at booking. Time for selection, purchase and consolidation comes on top.
Who is responsible for Chestny ZNAK and certification?
The importer, meaning your company. Clothing brought in from outside the EAEU must be marked before it is placed under a customs procedure, and most items need a declaration of conformity and the EAC mark. We help with labels, compositions and factory documents.
What charges apply at Russian customs?
Import duty based on the HS code, customs fees and VAT: from 1 January 2026 the standard rate is 22%, and 10% may apply to certain children's goods on the official list. Your customs representative calculates the exact amount for your goods.
How is the order paid?
Payment terms are agreed individually, through channels permitted by EU rules. The factories invoice the goods, our commission of 7 to 10% is charged separately, and shipping is quoted for each specific lot.
